Join Hebe de Souza for a talk about her novel Black British at Shepparton Library in Goalburn Valley.
A deeply moving portrait of a girl growing up a stranger in her own land. It is 1958 and India is in turbulence following the end of the British Empire. Lucy de Souza is born into an affluent Indian family who once prospered under the Raj. Isolated from hostile locals, her family are viewed as black British, having adopted the British culture and language.
