Whitney Fitzsimmons
Whitney Fitzsimmons is an award-winning journalist, television presenter, and author, who is best known for her work at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), where she spent more than a decade presenting the 7pm News, Business Today, Lateline Business, The Drum, and The Midday Report. She was also a senior producer on the ABC’s national current affairs program Lateline and a contributor to One Plus One, where she interviewed high-profile figures including Brené Brown and Tony Bennett.
Whitney created the SBS television series Small Business Secrets and hosted the podcast ‘What Happens Next? with Whitney Fitzsimmons’, which was nominated for an Australian Podcast Award.
Whitney was awarded journalism fellowships from the East West Centre at the University of Hawaii and the Asia Pacific Journalism Centre. She has a Masters of Arts: Journalism from The University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts: Theatre & Performance from Western Sydney University. She is a graduate of Curtis Brown Creative and a member of the Australian Society of Authors.
The Rising is her debut novel.
