Join this exclusive fiction writing workshop facilitated by Katherine Johnson, author of The Better Son, presented by the Arts & Cultural Festival 2018 in Townsville

The workshop will cover:

First Hour

  • The Writing Journey: shared experiences – writing, editing, opportunities, publishing
  • The Writing Craft: finding a voice, point of view, style, plotting

Break (20 min tea/coffee & chat)

Please Note:

  • Participants are to send Katherine a brief bio plus 1-2 pages of a piece of their work for feedback (max 500 words).  Send bio and work to: library@townsville.qld.gov.au
  • Bio and work is to be submitted by 29 March, 2018
  • Katherine will provide individual feedback in the last hour of the workshop

Second Hour

  • Character Development (exercise)
  • Pitching to agents/publishers (exercise)

Break (5-10mins)

Last Hour

  • Individual feedback and workshopping
